Regulations and regulatory bodies can be complex and daunting.

John Ford Solicitors has a wealth of knowledge and experience in relation to regulatory law.

Our Firm

We are experienced in advising and representing people who have been subject to disciplinary proceedings, and have represented medical students who have found themselves subject to fitness to practise procedures whilst at university as well as qualified doctors. We assist with appeals against the findings of the General Medical Council’s Fitness to Practise Panels.

We have also provided specific assistance to clients such as nurses, teachers and social workers also facing fitness to practise or similar panels.

We have conducted appeals and connected judicial reviews concerning fitness to practise issues where, for example, procedural flaws have been identified within the fitness to practise proceedings. We have also taken licensing appeals to the Magistrates and have appealed against the decisions of Magistrates to the High Court (appeals by way of case-state).

We have also brought judicial review proceedings in cases where procedural flaws have been identified in the Regulatory process.
